Mr. Downey has been engaged across a wide range and variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution and commercial real estate companies. Paul has acted in a variety of roles, including temporary CEO, tasked with taking direct responsibility of the situation and returning the company to profit, and or, executing an appropriate and agreed exit plan. An expert in finance and crisis management, Paul can quickly gain an understanding of the key issues, develop a turnaround plan to help gain the confidence of the key stakeholders and thereby provide the time to allow for the return to profit.

Paul enjoys an enviable reputation throughout the banking and M&A world as a results oriented expert in difficult complex situations.

Mr. Downey as also acted (at the request of the court, and or, by the financial institution) as a court appointed receiver in over fifty cases. In these complex situations Paul often returns the entity to profit and executes on an exit plan to best benefit all the stakeholders. Many of these receiverships involved large complex commercial real estate properties, including apartments properties, large scale industrial/office complexes, requiring immediate stabilizing of the asset, simultaneously developing and executing on the immediate management need while determining and executing an effective exit strategy.

Case Studies

Represented a significant EU consumer-based brand and their efforts to establish a US beachhead while continuing to physically supply from Ireland. Created a broker network, developed APP based inventory placement and billing service, incorporated invoice paying guaranty platform and physical US distribution nationwide.
